Georgetown University in Qatar (GUQ) and Education Above All (EEA) will jointly host Emanuela Claudia Del Re, Italian Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on Tuesday at an event organised in cooperation with the Embassy of Italy in a discussion on ‘Development Cooperation: The Italian approach’.
Del Re will address current and future challenges of international development cooperation, highlighting the Italian vision and presenting the country’s best practices in this field, as well as the recent reform of the Italian system of international cooperation.
The Italian minister will also talk about the new challenges determined by conflicts and migration, Italy’s priorities in the framework of sustainable development goals of the UN 2030 Agenda, with a special focus on education.
Del Re is an expert in conflict studies, migrations, refugee issues, minorities, religious phenomena. She has carried out long researches on field in conflict areas and areas in transition since 1990, including the Balkans, the Caucasus, North Africa and the Middle East. She has been International Electoral Observer for the UN, EU, OSCE in more than 15 missions.
Tenured researcher, she has obtained the title of Associated Professor in Sociology in 2014.
