Ooredoo on Tuesday confirmed it is pressing ahead with enabling yet more devices with Voice Over Long-Term Evolution, or VoLTE.
Currently all iPhones are VoLTE-enabled, along with the Samsung 9, 9+, 10 and 10+, and several other Samsung models are soon to be included in the VoLTE revolution.
The telco leader cites a number of benefits VoLTE offers consumers, including; much faster call set-up and connection, multi-tasking capabilities; full high-speed 4G while on a voice call without interruption, HD voice quality and superior battery life
Thanks to intensive collaboration between Samsung Engineering and Ooredoo teams, several other Samsung models – Note8, Note9, A80, M10, M20, A10, and A20 - are expected to be VoLTE-enabled in the near future.
Speaking about the ongoing VoLTE-enablement programme, Manar Khalifa al Muraikhi, Director PR and Corporate Communications at Ooredoo – said: “We know accessing the latest technology is of the utmost importance to our customers, and it’s vital for us that we’re offering the highest quality service we can. Working closely with Samsung to ensure their devices are VoLTE-enabled has meant we’re now able to offer something no other operator currently does, meaning our customers are getting cutting-edge technology as soon as it’s available.”
Customers who are not currently using VoLTE on their devices will simply need to update their software to the latest version in order to start enjoying all the benefits VoLTE brings.
