THE Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Gulf Organisation for Research and Development (GORD) to develop sustainability criteria of foreign aid projects.
The MoU, signed by RACA’s Director-General Ibrahim Abdullah al Dhaimi and GORD Chairman Dr Yousef Mohammed al Horr, aims at enhancing cooperation between the two sides in the scientific and knowledge fields, exchanging experiences, developing sustainability standards of Qatar’s foreign aid projects, raising the capabilities and honing skills of the authority’s staff.
It also aims at developing the skills of employees of private charitable associations and institutions in the field of sustainability, in terms of design, implementation and operation of aid projects.
Furthermore, the MoU will see the Gulf Organization for Research and Development review projects submitted by charitable associations and institutions to ensure that sustainability standards are considered in its design, implementation and operation.
Under the MoU, a global award will be dedicated to the sustainability of charitable and humanitarian foreign aid projects, and joint events will be organised, such as the preparation of research, studies, workshops and conferences in this field. GORD’s facilities and infrastructure will also be used to implement programmes and events that serve charitable and humanitarian work, in addition to providing education and training opportunities in specialised centres and institutes of the organisation.
