THE Education City Golf Club (ECGC) recently hosted resident artist Anny Ku for her first art exhibition at the club. The exhibition features unique paintings of Education City Golf Club.
Anny Ku is a Taiwanese-Canadian professional artist living in Doha for past 16 years. Her works are inspired by local architecture, people, culture and personal interactions with community.
The club’s General Manager Michael Braidwood said: “We are delighted to host Annie’s art exhibition. It was great to see so many people turn up to enjoy the event. For many it was their first time to Education City Golf Club and some got to also try golf for the first time. We welcome more events like this to showcase the club as a multi-use facility.”
Attendees got to experience not only the amazing paintings, but also golf. “I love travelling to the desert and visit museums, shops and different places to draw inspiration from the beauty of the landscape, the architecture as well as the history and culture of Qatar. My works on display at Education City Golf Club bear testimony to this”, said Anny Ku.
She added: “The golf course has also inspired me to create two featured pieces on display. QF and ECGC have been working hard topromote sports. It helps the residents to live a healthy life. I hope people will find interest in golfing through my paintings!”
This is Anny Ku’s fourth solo art exhibition in Qatar. Ku’s love for art began when she first learned Chinese calligraphy at a young age in Taiwan.
