Defending champions Al Gharafa will hope to get their Ooredoo Cup challenge back on track when they take on Al Khor in their Group B round three match at the Al Wakrah Stadium on Friday.
The Cheetahs are fourth with one point from their opening two matches, while Al Khor are still basking from a 7-0 thrashing of Al Duhail last week which moved them to second in teh group behind Qatar SC.
Saeed Mohamed Brahimi was the star of the show with five goals, well-supported by a double from Ahmed Hassan al Mohannadi.
Al Gharafa are coming off a 0-3 defeat to Qatar SC will continue to miss some players due to national duty.
Also on Friday, group leaders Qatar SC face Al Arabi at the Al Ahli Stadium.
Qatar SC have been in excellent form of late since former Qatar international midfielder Wesam Rizik took charge, replacing Spaniard Carlos Alos Ferrer. The Kings had completed a hat-trick of victories to be placed ninth with 12 points in the 2019-20 QNB Stars League, which took a break before the second round of Ooredoo Cup.
Qatar SC continued from where they left and defeated Al Gharafa 3-0 in Round 2 of the Ooredoo Cup last week. They are leading Group B with six points, having defeated Al Sailiya 4-0 in the first round.
Al Arabi are third with four points. They made up for their 1-1 draw with Al Khor in Round 1 by defeating Al Sailiya 2-1 last week.
That defeat left Sailiya bottom of the group and they face a tough task against Al Duhail who will be looking for a bounce-back performance after a humbling loss to Al Khor.
On Saturday in Group A, Al Sadd take on Al Ahli, Al Shahania welcome Al Wakrah while group leaders Al Rayyan face struggling Umm Salal.
