THE Social and Sport Contribution Fund (Daam) organised a roundtable on promoting values and positive behaviour in schools on Wednesday with the participation of a group of educational leaders, experts and social specialists.
In his opening remarks, Director-General of Daam Rashid Mohammed al Nuaimi said educational process plays an essential role in building personalities and guiding human behaviour to achieve social harmony.
The event comes within the context of caring for students’ behaviour and discipline, he added, stressing that those in charge of the educational process should pay attention to this by identifying unacceptable behaviours and correcting them.
He added that the roundtable stems from Daam’s belief in improving the behavioural health of the community.
Director of Community Awareness Department at Daam Jawaher Abu Alfin said this initiative comes within the framework of achieving the strategic goals of Daam, which includes instilling and promoting positive moral in young people.
She noted that the Community Awareness Department is interested in adopting initiatives aimed at showing the important role of the family, school and educational institutions in the development of values and positive behaviour.
The roundtable included three main sessions on the sources of educational values in the school environment and their role, strategies for building educational values in the school environment in the light of developmental characteristics, and the importance of building values and the challenges associated with them in the digital age.
