Qatar’s Pavilion on the sidelines of the State’s participation in the 25th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 25), in the Spanish capital Madrid, is offering a slew of activities, presentations, projects and initiatives that highlight Qatar’s role in combating climate change.
The Qatar’s pavilion features presentations, videos and activities by various parties inside and outside the country to show national efforts and projects and how to tackle the phenomenon of climate change and to enhance cooperation with international bodies.
Among the contents is the Green Cars initiative and the opening of the unique PV plant in the world, where electric cars are charged with solar energy that the station stores.
The pavilion also highlights efforts in protecting the civil aviation environment in Qatar to achieve a safe, effective and sustainable civil aviation system in a way that further enhances Qatar’s position in the global aviation industry map.
The Qatar’s pavilion also hosts initiatives and programmes that aim at raising the awareness of the individual in preserving natural resources and achieving environmental sustainability within the framework of the Qatar National Vision 2030.
Within the activities of the Qatari pavilion, a seminar titled ‘The role of technology in facing climate change challenges and how to benefit from carbon dioxide gas’ featured a number of lectures by speakers from Qatar and abroad.
Qatar is one of the first countries to sign the ‘Paris Agreement’ on climate.
Discussions and negotiations on the implementation of the ‘Paris Agreement’ and accompanying events are expected to continue until December 13.
